On 28 May, Ottis Munipa and Yafet Keiya were arrested alongside six other KPB members during a demonstration in support of a bid by the United Liberation Movement for West Papua (ULMWP) for membership of the Melanesian Spearhead Group (MSG). They were detained in Nabire Regional Police Station.
It is unclear what charges Munipa and Keiya are facing.
