Dema Kogoya was arrested during a protest organised by AMP and FRI-WP in front of the US Embassy in Jakarta on 30 September 2021. The protest was held on the occasion of 59 years of Rome Agreement. Joint security forces dispersed the protest and arrested as many as 15 protestors including Dema Kogoya, citing the COVID-19 protocol.
