Elly Dolame (20), Timinus Wenda 24), Urbanus Juka (26), Yermin Gombo (19), and Maikel Gombo (20) were arrested on 21 August 2019 when they came out of their hiding in the forest a few hours after the unrest. The first three were accused of destroying the local legislative building, (DPRD Dewan Perwakilan Daerah) while the last two were accused of destroying a national anti-narcotics agency building (Badan Narkotika Nasional). They were all charged with Article 170 on collective violence against persons or objects of the Criminal Code. They were released because there was not enough evidence and the maximum period permitted under law to detain them had been exceeded.
