Mr Aliknoe is a student at Universitas Papua. He both assisted in the organisation of and participated in a Free West Papua protest in Manokwari on 3 September 2019, including by delivering speeches at the protest. Two Morning Star flags were flying during this protest, which was part of the broader political uprising which swept across West Papua from 19 August to 23 September 2019. He was arrested by Manokwari Police Resort without warrant.
He was sentenced to nine months in prison and released on 16th June 2020 after serving full sentence.
