Arrested on 31 August 2019 at around 7 pm by plainclothes police. She was arrested along with her two housemates but the other two were released the following day. They were arrested by Jakarta Regional Police without showing an arrest warrant. When she wanted to change her clothes, a police officer told her, insultingly, “You Papuans generally don’t wear clothes anyway.” She was one of only two West Papuan women to be charged with treason since 2000.
She was released on 27 May 2020 after serving a 9 month jail sentence.
