Oniara Wenda was arrested on 31 May 2020 with the accusation of violating Articles 340, 338, 365, and 351 sections (1) and (2) of the Criminal Code allegedly for his involvement in the West Papuan freedom fighter group. He is currently in detention in the Jayapura regional police station pending trial.
